Emotional Regulation & Social Groups

Emotional Regulation

At Giant Oak Learning, our therapists deliver a diverse range of evidence-based programs designed to support the unique needs of individuals across all ages. Among our most popular offerings is the Go Zen program—a multidisciplinary initiative available to both children and adults.

Go Zen empowers participants to better understand their emotions and develop practical self-regulation strategies. Through engaging activities, creative exercises, and real-world scenarios, clients build emotional intelligence, resilience, and lifelong coping skills. Our experienced team tailors each session to the individual, ensuring a supportive and personalised experience that fosters confidence and emotional wellbeing.

Whether delivered in our Rockhampton clinic, online, or through our outreach services to rural communities, Go Zen is structured to promote lasting positive outcomes in everyday life. Many clients have reported increased self-awareness, improved emotional management, and greater confidence in facing daily challenges.

Don’t just take our word for it—our clients regularly share how Go Zen has made a meaningful difference in their lives. To learn more about how this program can benefit you or your child, contact us today.

Social Groups

At Giant Oak Learning, our therapists facilitate specialised social groups designed to help children with disabilities develop essential social skills in a supportive and engaging environment. Our popular Lego and craft groups provide structured opportunities for participants to learn, play, and collaborate with their peers. Through guided activities, children are encouraged to communicate, share, problem-solve, and build friendships in a setting that values creativity and individuality.

Each session is thoughtfully planned by our experienced therapists to target specific social and emotional goals, such as turn-taking, teamwork, and expressing ideas. The hands-on nature of Lego building and craft projects allows children to practice these skills in real time, while also boosting their confidence and sense of accomplishment. By participating in these groups, children not only enhance their ability to interact and socialise, but also gain the tools they need to thrive in school and beyond. Our social groups are inclusive, welcoming, and tailored to meet the unique needs of every child.
